Josie grew up in Cornwall and went on to study Medicine at Cardiff University. She started windsurfing at university but didn't start sailing until after meeting Roger in Bangor whilst studying for an intercalated degree in Exercise Science. Since then she has completed her medical degree (between operations) and now works as a doctor at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Roger Phillips

Roger is from Norfolk and has been sailing on the Broads for as long as he can remember and is both a dinghy sailing and windsurf instructor. He met Josie in 2003 whilst studying for a degree in Ocean Science at the University of Wales, Bangor. He is currently completing a PhD in Coastal Science at the University of East Anglia.
